The ‘Ploughman’s Poet’ is our peaceful and luxurious cottage for two people that is brimming with character, and truly befitting of its idyllic rural setting. Perfect for a relaxing break or any outdoors enthusiasts, with easy access to central Scotland’s many attractions, such as the Pentland Hills, The Kelpies and also easy access to local train stations providing quick & easy access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres.
The property offers; 1 double bedroom with built in wardrobes, fantastic dining kitchen, large dual aspect lounge with access to outside decked area, modern bathroom and large garden.
With ample outdoor dining space, the Ploughman’s Poet offers the perfect space for spending those long summer evenings in, taking in the striking views over the surrounding countryside watching the beautiful sunset.
The cottage comes complete with all bed linen & towels – spares provided – washing machine, crockery, some kitchen cupboard essentials, handmade welcome pack, local information folder with all the attractions, eateries, shopping we have to offer, Xbox 360 with selection of games and dvd’s, and free WI Fl.

Additional Rules
Please enjoy your stay in the Ploughman’s Poet. This is our holiday cottage and expect guests to treat it like their own. The cottage should be left in a reasonable state. I would appreciate if guests can take out their rubbish and all towels etc for washing be left inside the shower cubical. Please clean your own dishes etc on check out. The Ploughman’s Poet is a strictly no smoking, vaping or e cigarettes property. Sorry no visitors unless prior arrangements are made. Strictly no parties. Finally, no pets. If there is a requirement a cleaning fee of £60 will be charged. For one night only there will also be a cleaning fee of £30. Thank you
Cancellation Policy
Full refund for covid related issues up to 4 days prior to arrival.
Check in details
Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am unless prior arrangements made. Contactless entry via a keybox.
Other things to note
Car is essential if you plan to travel around, we are not on any local bus routes. There is a train station at Fauldhouse which is 3 miles away and Bathgate 6 miles.
Guest Access
There is ample parking for a number of cars, the Ploughman’s Poet is located on the same site as our home. Therefore i am around if you need anything. The cottage is a completely detached one bedroom cottage with it’s own private access and front door. Access to our ground is via a securely locked gate. Our location is rural, there is a farm locally. But within easy reach of all local amenities. Please feel free to ring me if you have any questions prior to booking.
