The ‘Ploughman’s Poet’ is our peaceful and luxurious cottage for two people that is brimming with character, and truly befitting of its idyllic rural setting. Perfect for a relaxing break or any outdoors enthusiasts, with easy access to central Scotland’s many attractions, such as the Pentland Hills, The Kelpies and also easy access to local train stations providing quick & easy access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres.

You can expect a lovely cottage/ lodge in the country, peaceful nights sleep, chickens, a lovely dog, bird watching, HOMEMADE CAKES 🙂 Just remember to follow the instructions Linda provides and not the sat nav (we drove down a muddy footpath because the sat nav told us it was a road!)
You will not be disappointed with the Ploughmans Poet it is fabulous, everything you need and the hospitality cannot be beaten. Its in a lovely quiet spot but motorways and train station a short drive away making it so easy to visit all attractions.
A great getaway surrounded by farms away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Linda was an amazing host and would definitely recommend the place. It felt like a 5-star accommodation.
The Ploughman’s Poet is a lovely place to stay, the fixtures and fittings are quality throughout. The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable. Linda is a super host, made us feel really welcome on arrival and during our stay. She has tried to think of everything to make the stay perfect and her home baking was great. She is a thoughtful host, nothing is too much bother and she pointed us in the right direction with suggestions when we wanted to explore the local area.Â
